Remapping is a process of altering your car engine’s computer, which is better known as an engine control unit (ECU)… We download the original software & make a copy. We then adjust different elements to allow for more performance and/or fuel economy. Your new software is then uploaded to the ECU along with the original copy, of which is stored incase you would like to revert back.

Absolutely. Many of our customers drive cars such as compact hatchbacks, mid range saloons, family cars and light vans. With a Motortech Road Map, you will notice an overall increase in responsiveness and drivability. This in turn makes your daily drive that bit easier giving you added power for pulling out of busy junctions and getting up to speed quicker or potentially saving fuel on longer runs.

Note that some tuning companies offer very similar gains – so be wary of those who appear to offer marginal power increases as this is likely to be an off the shelf map for your car and might not be safe for your engine. Unlike some others, our maps are engineered in house and are tailored to your vehicle so that we can ensure that we work within the safe operating parameters of your vehicle. This means that we offer (what we call “Road Maps”) responsive and progressive maps rather than all out power at the limit.

Not in the right hands. We connect to your ECU using our state of the art diagnostic equipment and analyse the software already there. Then, we tailor the software to you and your vehicle which is then uploaded onto the ECU.

Yes, in secure storage, should you ever require your vehicle to put back to original.

We advise that it is your responsibility to inform your insurance Company of any modification to your vehicle. We are finding that more and more insurance companies are not penalising their customers for saving fuel and recognise our economy upgrades.
